Floral Jacquard Dress

Look #1 is a vintage-inspired mini dress. The body of the dress is adorned with intricate floral jacquard fabric, while the sleeves feature a delicate touch with sheer silk material. Both of these fabrics were purchased secondhand.
To design this dress, used a combination of draping and 3d design through Vstitcher

Design Process
To design this dress, I began by draping the bodice on a dress form, and I used flat pattern techniques to create the skirt and sleeves.
Next, I brought the pattern into Vstitcher and stitched it together.

Then I printed out my digital pattern in the size that was the most similar to my fit model’s measurements and sewed a sample dress.
After having my fit model try on the dress, I had a few fit updates to make to the pattern before sewing the final garment.
